Wi-Fi at AAU
Connecting to WI-FI at AAU

- Connect to the AAU Wi-Fi Network
- Open a browser
- Enter net.aau.dk in the address bar
- Click on AAU Login
- Log in with your AAU-Username and your password
- Click on Create device
- Name your device
- Go to Personal devices
- Click on Create
Once you have completed the setup instructions above, and you have received a username and password, you will be able to install a certificate on your computer in order to avoid manually entering your username and password every time.
- To the right under setup instructions, you can find automatic installation, login included (here you can also find your username and password)
- Choose Windows to download the certificate
- Click on the installation file that has been downloaded
- You might get a dialog box Windows Protected Your PC – if that is the case then click on More information
- Click Run anyway
- Press any key to continue
- Click Yes
- Press any key to continue
Now the certificate is installed, and you will automatically be logged in to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network.
- Connect to the AAU Wi-Fi Network
- Close the popup-window, before you login at net.aau.dk
- Open Google Chrome browser
- Enter net.aau.dk in the address bar
- Click on AAU Login
- Log in with your AAU-Username and your password
- Click on Create device
- Name your device
- Go to Personal devices
- Click on Create
Once you have completed the setup instructions above, and you have received a username and password, you will be able to install a certificate on your computer in order to avoid manually entering your username and password every time:
- To the right under setup instructions, you can find automatic installation, login included (here you can also find your username and password)
- Choose macOS
- Go to system settings on your Mac
- Click on Profiles
Here you will find the downloaded file called AAU WiFI setup at the top. If you cannot see the file then go to your Downloads and double-click on the file in order to move it to the top of the list.
- Click Install (the button is on the right) when the AAU WiFi setup file is marked.
- Click Install in the dialog box which asks if you are sure you want to install the AAU WiFi setup profile.
- Enter your own password to your Mac
- Click OK
After downloading the certificate, you can now go to the Wi-Fi icon and choose Eduroam, where you will be automatically logged in.
- Connect to the AAU Wi-Fi Network
- Open a new browser window
- Enter net.aau.dk in the address bar
- Click on AAU Login
- Log in with your AAU-Username and your password
- Click on Create device
- Name your device
- Go to Personal devices
- Click on Create
Once you have completed the setup instructions to access the Wi-Fi at AAU, you will need to download AAU’s certificate. If you are not installing directly from your phone, you must log in to net.aau.dk from your smartphone and download the certificate. Follow the steps below:
- Click on Android under the installation
- Download the CA Certificate via the Chrome browser on your phone
- Choose Wi-Fi in the drop-down menu
- Name the certificate AAU WIFI
Depending on which version of Android you are using, the configuration might differ from one another. However, you will need to apply the following information:
- EAP method = PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication = MSCHAPV2
- CA certificate = AAU
- Identity = The Username that you got from net.aau.dk
- Password = The Password that you got from net.aau.dk
- Domain = aau.dk
- All other setup options must to stay blank
Please note that it is not certain that all the set up information above appear in your configuration.
- Connect to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network.
You are now logged into Eduroam and can use the network.
- Connect to the AAU Wi-Fi Network
- Open Safari browser
- Enter net.aau.dk in the address bar
- Click on AAU Login
- Log in with your AAU-Username and your password
- Click on Create device
- Name your device
- Go to Personal devices
- Click on Create
Once you have completed the setup instructions to access the Wi-Fi at AAU, you will need to download AAU’s certificate. If you are not installing directly from your iPhone or iPad, you must log in to net.aau.dk from your device and download the certificate. Follow the steps below:
- Click on Apple iOS under the installation
- Click Allow to download the configuration file
If you have multiple devices connected to your iPhone, for example an Apple Watch, it will ask you which device the profile should be downloaded onto. If you are installing on an iPad, it will just run without asking.
- Choose iPhone/iPad
- Click on Close when the profile is downloaded
- Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Click on Profile downloaded (it is located under your picture and name)
- Click Install in the left corner of the dialog box which pops up
- If you have a lock screen password on your iPhone/iPad, you will need to enter it
- Click Install again
- Click Install again in the new dialog box
- Click OK
- Connect to Eduroam under Wi-Fi
You are now logged into Eduroam and can use the network.
When you want to access the network at AAU as a guest or examiner, you will need to get in touch with your contact person at AAU who can add your device in our system (net.aau.dk) and assign you a username and password. It is beneficial to add you in our system if you are at AAU for a longer period of time, since you will gain permanent access. If you are here for a couple of days only and therefore do not need permanent access, your contact person can help you gain access to AAU-1-DAY.
If you are from another educational institution and want to access the Wi-Fi network, you need to choose the network Eduroam, if you have access to this via your own educational institution. As an alternative, you can get in touch with your contact person at AAU, who can add you in our system (net.aau.dk) or help you gain access to AAU-1-DAY - Read more about AAU-1-DAY here or under the item AAU-1-DAY on this webpage.
As a guest at AAU, you can freely use our wireless guest-network AAU-1-DAY.
To connect to this network, you need to use the password of the day. This password can be viewed by all employees and students - See the AAU-1-DAY password here.
Please note - To get the AAU-1-DAY password you need to have an AAU-Username. Therefore, you need to get in touch with your contact person at AAU, who can help you get the password.
This password is updated every day at midnight, so you will need to update the password every day. Therefore, we recommend that you use Eduroam.

TO EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS WHO SHARE THE PASSWORD TO AAU-1-DAY WITH GUESTS
Use of this network is subject to the same rules that you have signed, and it is your responsibility to orient yourself about this when issuing the password of the day.
Do you experience problems with AAU-1-DAY?
You might experience problems accessing the AAU-1-DAY network, if you have used the network before and your computer remembers the old password. In these cases, find the network properties and replace the old password with the new one.
- Right-click on the Windows-icon
- Go to Settings
- Go to network and internet
- Choose Wi-Fi in the list to the left
- Click on Manage known networks
- Click on AAU-1-DAY
- Click Forget
Now you can connect to the network again using the new password of the day.
Find AAU-1-DAY in the Keychain Access on your Mac.
- Press ⌘ + the spacebar
- Spotlight Search will now open
- Search Keychain Access
- Choose Keychain Access
- Under the tab Passwords
- Find AAU-1-DAY
- Right-click on AAU-1-DAY
- Choose delete
- Enter the password to your Mac to edit the key
- Click delete
- Connect again to AAU-1-DAY
- Enter the password of the day for AAU-1-DAY
Now you can connect to the network again using the new password of the day.
Does your Mac automatically connect to the network AAU?
Try clicking the "Wi-Fi icon" in the menu bar on the top of your screen. Choose "network settings", and then click the "AAU" network in the dropdown menu under network name. Disable "connect automatically to this network".
