Rooms at AAU

In recent years, IT Services (ITS) has invested a large amount to renew and create uniformity for AV equipment in the rooms in which ITS is responsible for the equipment. The aim is that equipment is up-to-date and supports digitization in education and meeting activities. Furthermore, uniformity in equipment is an aim in order to create recognition among users no matter which room they teach in. Below you can see an overview over which types of rooms there are and a shot description of them. ITS offers support, instructions and courses in the use of AV equipment in rooms at AAU.

Different types of rooms at AAU

Classrooms also known as seminar rooms

Remote learning rooms (formerly known as video conference rooms)

Remote learning rooms are used for hosting online lectures or meetings via a video conference system.

Is equipped with:

Projector
Screen
Blackboard
A video conference system
Document camera
Wireless microphone
HDMI cable with fixed adapters

Characteristics:

A touchscreen on the desk and a video camera mounted on the wall.

If you are hosting a remote lecture or a video conference meeting with external participants or more than two AAU rooms, you must create a MS Teams or AAU Zoom meeting as well.

Auditoriums

Meeting rooms

Meeting rooms are primarily used for meetings. Meeting rooms are not well suited for hosting remote lecturers.

Is equipped with:

Characteristics:

If there is a video conference system in the room, you will find a touch panel and a camera.

Studios and other rooms owned by institutes and rented rooms e.g. NOVI

Is equipped with:

Various types of AV equipment of which some is not up-do-date

Characteristics:

The AV equipment is owned by the various institutes and can therefore differ from AAU ITS' normal standard.

Instructions and courses offered by ITS does not support these rooms.

ITS will offer support as far as possible. However, please note that the IT supporters cannot be expected to be educated in the use of the specific equipment in the rooms.

It is the institutes responsibility to report a faulty item and repair these.
