Adding subtitles to a video recording or finding the transcription

• Log in at https://Panopto.aau.dk
• Select the Folder to upload the video to
• Select the Gear icon
• Select Settings on the left side
• Under the menu item Settings, find Content language, here you can choose which language you want to use for the automatic transcription and subtitling of the video

To use Content Language, you need to upload new material, as it cannot be used on existing material in the folder

• Upload new material in the folder - Click Create
• Select Upload media
• Drag the video or audio file to the field

Depending on the length of the video, as well as the display of captions, uploading the video may take some time - so please be patient.

• Once the video is uploaded, click on the video - a new tab will open in your browser
• The selected video will start playing, so if you don't want to hear the sound, pause it
• Select Captions on the left side of the menu - This will display the transcription of the audio in the video (it may take some time)
• Adding subtitles - click on two cc's in the bottom right corner of the video
  
  • You can also choose to download the captions/subtitles for the video
    
    • Hover the cursor over the video
    • Click on Settings
    • Select Captions
    • Click on Select file under Upload subtitles
    • Navigate to the file
    • Tick off Captions are based on the edited session
    • Click on Upload subtitles
• Click on the three dots to set the position, color and size of the subtitles
• Your changes are automatically saved
