Setting up a new course

Setting up a new course

As you enter the newly created course, you will have get the option to choose an English or a Danish course template for the course.
You also have the option to start with a completely empty course, where you decide the whole structure of the course yourself, just as you have been used to in earlier versions of Moodle.

If you choose a Template (1), you will be asked if you are sure about the template and must click on the Import button.

When you choose the template, three sections will be created: Course Description, Communication and Course Materials (2).
On the far right, a menu appears that you can use for the course setup (3).
- The first option is Select course image (4) and is described in the Add images and description to your course guide
- The next option is Import course information from the Module database (5). When you select this, you will see a list of the modules from the module database that match the name of the course. You can also search using the module code. Select the desired code and you will be shown the content from the module database, and if it is the correct one, then click on import and the description will be inserted in to the Course description section
- The last option is Create topics from calendar (6). When you select this, you can see the course sessions that have been added to the calendar for the course and can create a course session with the same name as the course session and specifying the time the course session takes place.
You can now fill in your course content in the same way as usual. You go in to edit mode by activating the edit mode floating button.
