Importing from previous courses

NOTE: Before you can import a course, you need to ensure that:
1. You are enrolled as either a teacher or secretary, on both the course you wish to import content from and the course you wish to import content to.
2. That you have chosen one of the three templates at the top of the new course, before beginning the import.
- Find the course you want to import from
- In the link for this course (which you find in the browser's address field) you can see the Course Id. For example moodle.aau.dk/course/view.phd?id=99821 , where the Course-Id is 99821.
- Copy the Course Id for this course

- Go to the course you want to import to
Note: When you import a course, in to a new course, you need to make sure you have chosen a template in the new course, before you import the course. If the template is missing, you will be unable to see the content of the import.
- Activate the Edit Mode button (1)
- Select the More tab (2) and Course reuse (3) on the menu under the top menu

- Select the option Import (6) in the menu.
NOTE: Be aware of the difference between Import and Restore. Import adds – Restore overwrites.
- Next, paste the course ID that you copied from the course you want to import from into the Search courses field (4) and click Search (5).
A list of the courses that match your search criteria will then appear.
- Mark the desired course and click on the Continue button

The screen here shows a list of what is included in the import.
- Click on the Next button.

On this page you can choose exactly which elements from the course you wish to include in the import. As a default, all elements are selected.
- Select the desired items
- Click on the Next button

You will see a page with an overview of the choices you have made.
If the import choices se are correct:
- Click on the Perform import button
Otherwise, use the Previous button and go back and change your selections.
