If you receive a suspicious email, it is important to respond appropriately. On this page, you can learn how to recognize phishing attempts and what steps to take to protect yourself and AAU.

What should I do if I receive a phishing email?

If you receive an email that you suspect is a phishing attempt, please report it by following the steps below:

  • Right-click the email.
  • Select "Report" from the drop-down menu (as shown below).
  • Select "Report Phishing".

If you have clicked on any links or opened any attachments in a phishing email, you must immediately reset your password and report the incident as a security incident through the Service Portal.
