From April 21, we will start upgrading all Windows 10 computers set up by ITS to version 20H2.
The upgrade includes a number of updates from Microsoft and aims to stabilize and secure your computer, as well as add new features.
How do I know if my computer is included in the upgrade?
All AAU10 and Administrative10 computers are included in the upgrade. Your computer is an AAU10 or Administrative10 if you can see the “Software Center” from the start menu and your computer is running Windows 10.
Time of upgrade
The upgrade will be automatically available in your Software Center on April 21, 2021, but the installation deadline may vary depending on how old your version of Windows 10 is.You can see your current deadline in your Software Center by looking in the "Updates" tab.
Do I need to do anything about the upgrade?
We recommend that you start the upgrade yourself from your Software Center at a time that is convenient to you. You do this by opening “Software Center” and select the tab “Updates”. Then select “Feature update to Windows 10 (business editions), version 20H2”.
The installation itself can take up to an hour and a half, and a subsequent restart is required to complete the upgrade. However, you can still work on your computer while upgrading.
NOTE: It is important that you restart your computer yourself after installation.
If you do not start the upgrade yourself before the deadline, this will happen automatically the first time the computer is started after your deadline. This restart may take longer than usual, so please plan accordingly. In case you do not restart your computer yourself, the computer will restart itself. It does so at a later, arbitrary time, which of course may be inappropriate.
