We currently have two windows platforms(types) for personal computers:
Administrative platform (Administrativ10)
- The platform is directed to employees who primarily work within or is dependent on AUU administrative systems (Often TAP staff)
- Al software that can affect administrative systems is updated only after systematic testing.
AAU platform (AAU10)
- The platform for people who want quick access to new features and functions, e.g., for research or teaching (primarily VIP staff)
- All administrative systems might not be supported on this platform
- AI software will be updated to the latest version as soon as possible
As far as possible, we will always install the desired platform in the latest available operating system.
Our Windows 10 configurations (AAU10 and Administrativ10) include Bitlocker encryption enabled by default.
Common to the two types is that they are installed with the following standard AAU software:
- Software Center
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Cisco AnyConnect VPN

Where do I store my data?
On our default configurations, your data is automatically backed up from selected locations.
All machines installed after Monday, September 16, 2019, are set up with our OneDrive solution. If your machine is installed before this date, please read ”Computer without OneDrive” at the bottom of this page.
We recommend that you do not store data at locations on your computer that are not mentioned here.
All files located on the Desktop, in Documents, and in Photos are automatically uploaded to OneDrive and thus backed up. If you create folders or subfolders in OneDrive, these will also be uploaded to OneDrive.
Check here to make sure that your data is located correctly: C:\Users\BRUGERNAVN\OneDrive - Aalborg Universitet or sign in at www.office.com and select OneDrive.

Computer without OneDrive
If you have a computer that is not configured with our OneDrive solution, data located in the folder C:\Users\BRUGERNAVN will be backed up automatically.
We recommend that you contact IT support to have your computer reconfigured in order to use OneDrive.
