Tips for optimising sound quality

We recommend you to use a headset. Your computer may already have a built-in microphone and speaker, but the sound quality is often too poor to be used for business meetings.
If you need a headset, we have a range of equipment available for loan. To loan equipment, please contact ITS Support, and we will make sure that the necessary equipment is available to you.

When you act as the meeting organiser/presenter and wish to present something to your meeting participants, we recommend that you use a network cable instead of relying on your wireless connection; this will ensure good sound quality. The volume of your computer’s built-in microphone is often too low for meetings; we recommend that you use a headset or a Jabra SPEAK 510+ when attending Skype for Business meetings.
